priming of a device
The priming of a device is the next step after its loading. It includes the placing of the means of firing and of the firing circuit used to detonate a charge. It is a two-phase operation: 1 - State of Readiness 1 " safe". The main lines are unwound, the branch lines are connected to the main lines. The main lines are not primed: blasting caps, priming charge and main lines are not connected. 2. State of Readiness 2 " armed" . The priming charges are primed by connecting them to the blasting caps. The latter are connected to the main lines. Immediate firing is possible.
