level of maintenance	Maintenance is organized in three levels in France and four in the United Kingdom and NATO, depending mainly on economic and/or time criteria. These are levels of maintenance one and two, level of maintenance three and level of maintenance four. Their extent increases proportionally with the levels of competence and equipment required, as well as with the foreseeable intervention time and the amount of available spares. An organic level of maintenance is assigned technical interventions corresponding to its actual capabilities. level of maintenance 3	Level of maintenance 3 pertains to maintenance operations going as deep as the units to be replaced in workshops, within fixed or mobile infrastructure. These operations are complex or long-lasting, and they require special equipment such as benches, special tools, specific literature, personnel and spares. One only speaks about level 3 maintenance operations or level 3 technical interventions.
level of maintenance 4	Level of maintenance 4 pertains to the deepest maintenance operations, and it can imply the complete reassembly or reconditioning of items of equipment. These are complex operations. They can be programmed.
