Action consisting, for a unit which is in general reserved for this purpose, of rapidly reaching the place where an incident took place, either to reverse the balance of forces or to counter the threat.
intervention
Initial phase of operations during which a force is engaged mainly in order to solve the military and security issues of a crisis. It is aimed at the military defeat of the enemy, the end of combats or the reduction of the level of violence. This phase, combining coercion and violence control actions paves the way for stabilisation. There might be an overlap between these two phases. 2. Action taken to exert influence over, modify or control a specific activity.
