autonomous airmobile action
Action conducted with or without ground forces on board, by helicopter units and following their pace. This action integrates the intelligence, fire and movement functions. It aims at denying an enemy unit moving on the ground or flying in the airspace at very low altitude, any action threatening the integrity of the unit disposition or the course of the maneuver in progress. It is most of the time dissociated in time and space from the latter and is ordered by the authorized commander who assigns to the unit commander the achievement of a main effect on its potential enemy that will be key to the success of the maneuver being executed.
