| нет если это слова "," не нужна. Если бы это были длинные фразы запятая была бы уместна. |

Вордовский Spelling and Grammar всегда требует запятую перед and при перечислении трех и более членов. In series containing three or more items, use а comma before 'and' and 'or'. |
| По-моему, я где-то читала, что с запятой более грамотно, "по-английски". Но без нее тоже криминала и пунктуационной ошибки нет |

Checked Swan's Practical English. He says: "In British English, a comma is not usually used with "and" between the last two items unless these are long." Everyone is right, yeah... |

| Oxford comma That form of punctuation is uncommon in British English, as it obviously is in South Africa, but it’s a characteristic part of the house style of the Oxford University Press, hence the name. It’s also called the Harvard comma from the house style of the Harvard University Press, but the more general term is serial comma. It’s common in American English and it is recommended in the Chicago Manual of Style and other US style guides, though American newspapers frequently omit it, supposedly to save space.The argument for using it is that it reduces the risk of ambiguity. For example, if you were to write “He studied Roman history, international politics and economics” it is not obvious whether international refers only to politics or also to economics. Putting the serial comma in removes that doubt. In practice, an alert writer will spot the potential problem and can often write around it. Perhaps the best argument for the serial comma is that apocryphal book dedication: “To my parents, Ayn Rand and God”. |

10-4, мне кажется вы преувеличиваете. Вообще то, когда мы не используем запятую это значит, что определения описывают разные свойства обьекта, а не то что это одно определение. (eg.: a big red balloon, no comma is needed. ) так что и без запятой будет понятно, что это три вида заведений просто смысла не имеет 'secondary and higher' вместе... мне кажется читающий поймет правильно и с запятой и без. |
| большинство, насколько можно судить, переводят на AmE (точнее, думают, что переводят на AmE), так что им оксфордская зпт уж точно не помешает. |
