coordination level Flight level determined in order to reduce the risks of collision between slow and fast aircraft. There are two different numbers, depending on whether it is located before the IFF SWITCH OFF LINE: 150 feet, or behind the IFF SWITCH OFF LINE: 500 feet. Slow aircraft (whose speed is 200 knots or below) have to fly below that level, and fast aircraft have to fly above that level.
coordination line See: phase line.
coordination line A line used for control and coordination of military operations. It is usually along recognizable terrain feature extending across the sector or zone of action. Units normally report crossing PLs, but do not halt unless specifically directed.
coordination point Designated point at which, in all types of combat, adjacent units/formations must make contact for purposes of control and coordination. A control measure that indicates a specific location for the coordination of fires and maneuver between adjacent units. They usually are indicated whenever a boundary crosses the forward battle area (FEBA) and may be indicated when a boundary crosses phase lines (PLs) used to control security forces.
