Major European ground unit gathering, under its operational command, units coming from France, Germany, Belgium, Spain and Luxemburg, either assigned or earmarked. It can be engaged, within the Atlantic Alliance, to participate in the Allies’ common defense, in peacekeeping or peace-restoration operations, or in humanitarian actions. It receives directives from the common committee, made up of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and of the political directors of the Foreign Affairs ministers.

European future advanced rotorcraft
EUROFOR
Land rapid reaction force for which contributing States place at disposal the capabilities of their national intervention units up to division level. It has no assigned forces, but it has a permanent staff. Able to act for the benefit of NATO or the member States, its aim is essentially to conduct crisis actions, such as force projection, aid to populations, NEO, interposition and area control.

(only the staff is permanent and set up in Florence)
equipped with light assets. Its size may reach that of a light division and each country provides a brigade-sized unit. It is to provide a rapid reaction capability to help populations in case of crisis, to evacuate nationals and to conduct crisis prevention, separation, surveillance and area control actions.
euroforces
Non-permanent combined military structures from France, Spain, Italy, and Portugal. They can be engaged directly for one or more of the four nations, or put under the command of international organizations
(EU, NATO)
They can be engaged in the Mediterranean theater for humanitarian, peace keeping or combat missions. They include two organizations: the EUROFOR and the EUROMARFOR, directed by the same high level interdepartmental committee.
